  • To the Gazette:
The Augusta Community Caring Center has a garage that is currently used for storage of overflow items and furniture. The building has no electricity. It would be more versatile and better utilized if it were wired with electricity.
We have an estimate of $1,750 from a local company for installation of electricity to the building.
The demand for the services provided by the Caring Center has greatly increased due to the economy and contributions have been down. This has resulted in the Center utilizing funds to provide food and utility assistance to our clients.
Therefore, we are sending a plea to the Augusta community to contribute to a fund to install electricity in the garage at the Caring Center.
The Center will accept cash or checks towards this project. Please identify your gift by marking it to be used for the "Caring Center Garage," or simply "garage."
The Caring Center appreciates all of the support we receive from the Augusta community.
The Center is open from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.
