  • Richard B. “Dick” Morris, 76, of Hillsboro and formerly of Canton, died Aug. 5, 2012 at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.
    He was born Oct. 15, 1935 in Sumner County, the son of Warren and Eunice (Bruce) Morris. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was an oil field owner/operator.
    On Oct. 27, 1960 he was married to Naomi Sue Weaver in Canton and she survives.
    Other survivors include: a daughter, Paula L. (Steve) Gann of Beggs, Okla.; brother, Ronald “Butch” Morris of Oxford, Kan.; sister, Peggy “Dot” Hockenbury of Lawrence; son-in-law, Ty Johnson of Hillsboro; five grandchildren; and one great grandson. A daughter, Linda Johnson; brother, Carol Morris; and sister, Patricia Nugen preceded him in death.
    Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Canton Christian Church. Interment will be in the Canton Township Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.
    Memorials have been established with the church, Canton Fire Department or Families and Communities Together, Inc. (FACT), in care of the mortuary.
