A chance of showers and thunderstorms exist for tonight, Thursday and into Thursday night. Little relief in the way of temperatures is expected. Tomorrow is the only day through at least next Tuesday that is forecast below 100 degrees. A heat advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. tonight.
Temperatures will again be scorching across the plains with triple digits expected across the area. Central Kansas will be the hottest with temps soaring above 105 degrees.
A cool front will approach the area late this afternoon and evening. As this front moves through scattered thunderstorms will be possible. Some of these storms have the potential to be strong with wind gusts up to 40 to 50 mph.
