Crews from Cornejo and Sons completed laying the base asphalt for Phase I of the 2012 street rehabilitation project July 18 and started the milling for Phase II July 19.
Although the crews have moved on to the next part of the project, Phase I isn’t completely finished, according to general superintendent Gordon Long.
People can drive on it now but the surface asphalt hasn’t been laid yet,” Long said. “We’ll do all the surface asphalt, which should only take a couple of days, at the end of the project.”
Phase I is the stretch of eight homes on the east side of Greenvalley Drive, south of Central. Phase II is the cul-de-sacs south of Third: Sunnyslope Court, Countryside Court, Hillcrest Court and Valleyview Court.
Long said they should finish laying base asphalt for Phase II by Monday or Tuesday. Crews plan on starting Phase III by Thursday.
