Jerry Lee Thomas, 67, of Towanda, retired self employed floor covering and washer/dryer repairman, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his home. Jerry was born Feb. 23, 1945, to James and Ruby (Mash) Thomas in Ada Valley, Ark. He was married to Carolyn “Sue” Stanford on June 23, 1969, in Tupelo, Miss. Survivors include his wife, Sue of the home; daughters, Cindy McCarrier of Corpus Christi, Texas and Melissa (Jeramy) Behrens of Andover; mother, Ruby Kennedy of Augusta; brothers, John (Patti) Thomas and Charlie Kennedy, all of Augusta; sisters, Daphine (Danny) Robbins of Augusta, Montine (Mel) Heinrich of Braman, Okla., Wanda Hattaway of Augusta, Joyce (Bob) Whitson of Augusta, Lynette (Richard) Du Bois of Wichita, and Brenda (Brad) Willour of Harrisonville, Mo.; and grandchildren, Chad, Brett and Breeanna Courtney and Ashton Thomas. Jerry was preceded in death by his father James Thomas. Viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday and visitation with family greeting friends following from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, all at the funeral home.
