  • Having to win three consecutive ball games in order to reach the Midwest final the Broncos responded with two of their needed three wins on Tuesday.
Josh Stone and Noah Smallwood threw complete-game victories in the Midwest Regional at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Stone blanked Hutchinson on two hits for a 6-0 victory, and Smallwood scattered eight hits in a 10-1 run-rule shortened win.
Against Hutch, the Broncos took advantage of eight hit-by-pitches. In the first, Chris Godinez hit a one-out single and scored on David Harris' double. Harris scored on a bases-loaded single by Brandon Lawrence.
Against Park City, the Broncos broke it open with a four-run third. Davis Morgan, Thomas Henk, Lawrencce and Jordan Slade singled in the inning.
Slade, who was picked up by the Broncos for his defensive prowess in centerfield, went 2 for 2 against Park City and reached a third time when he was hit by a pitch.
Henk homered leading off the fifth.
El Dorado can finished no worse that third place. However, the first two teams earn berths in the NBC World Series.
