Four members were present at the USD 385 Board of Education’s organizational meeting held July 9. Those in attendance were Roger A. Elliott, Carly Haynes, Matt Forney and Melinda Fritze. The board elected Elliott as president and Forney as vice president for the upcoming school year.
Haynes was named as the board’s representative to the South Central Education Service Center. Other committee appointments included Linda Hope and Fritze to the BOE Policy Review committee, while Haynes and Wilson were named to the Budget Advisory Committee.
Consent items approved included: personnel report, out of state travel, warrants for June 29, 2012; financial report for the period ending June 30, 2012; and Connell and Connell as the board’s attorney.
The board also named Jamie Bohannon as the district’s Freedom of Information officer to review disputes involving the Open Records Act, with Jim Freeman as the alternate.
