  • Butler County Sheriff Kelly Herzet would like to make the citizens of Butler County aware that there have been multiple incidents of used truck tires being dumped on rural roadways in western Butler County.
On more than one occasion, rural roads have been found to be littered in piles of dozens of used tires that have to be disposed of by local township officials.

The risk of obstructing roadways is always great and is a life-threatening problem.

Penalties for this offense range from a monetary fine to a felony conviction, depending on the circumstances of each event.

Citizens are urged to be aware of any trucks that may contain used tires driving on rural roads in the county and to contact law enforcement if anything suspicious is seen.

Any roadway that is blocked by tires or any other debris is extremely dangerous. Sheriff Herzet urges any person who observes a road that is obstructed to call 911 immediately to avoid any person being injured by this illegal dumping.
