  • It was hoped the El Dorado Broncos would set records this summer.
Unfortunately, they are nearing a mark that they don't want.
El Dorado lost its seventh straight Tuesday night at Haysville, losing 8-3.
That ties the 2010 team which lost seven in a row. The record is eight straight, which came in 2000.
Tied 3-3, the Broncos fell apart in the bottom of the sixth, allowing four runs.
Two straight singles, kayoed El Dorado starter Drew Smith. Jose Davis relieved and got an out. However, third baseman Tyler Coughenour threw wildly to first on the next batter, allowing two runs to score and leaving a runner at third.
Conner Knight's single brought that run home. Two wild pitches later, a single sent Knight home with the fourth run of the inning.
The Broncos came back in the top of the seventh, putting runners on second and third with none out. Thomas Clay and Brandon Lawrence struck out and Daniel Baptista ground out to end the threat.
In the eighth, it got worse. El Dorado loaded the bases with one out. Pinch-hitter Thomas Henk grounded into a pitcher-catcher-first base doubleplay as the Broncos came up empty again.
Mikel Mucha had three hits, and Clay, David Harris and Drew Williams had two hits apiece as the Broncos outhit the Heat 10-8.
El Dorado left nine runners on base, five in scoring position.
The Broncos return to action Thursday, hosting the Kansas Canons at McDonald Stadium.

The loss was the sixth in a row for the Broncos, tieing for the third longest losing streak in franchise history.
El Dorado scored twice in the eighth. Wayne Stanley got his third walk of the game to lead off. Mikel Mucha singled, and Thomas Clay singled in Stanley.
