The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin work July 9 on a project to upgrade the intersection of U.S. Highway 54 and 159th Street East.
The improvement will allow for protected left turns from all four directions. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained for both directions during the project, but left turns onto 159th East will not be allowed.
Most work will be done during daylight hours Monday through Friday. However, during the first week work will be done during the evening hours to create temporary driving lanes and install a concrete barrier.
The project is expected to be completed by late November.
