Augusta High School soccer head coach Monty Rowland will be hosting a week-long camp for kids of all ages in the coming weeks.
The camps will be divided into two age groups.  Kids going into 6th through 12th grade will have their camp Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13. The girls will play from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the boys will play from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Kids going into kindergarten through 5th grade will have their camp from Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20. Kindergarten through 2nd graders will play from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and 3rd through 5th graders will play from 6 to 7 p.m.
The camp will cost $30 per person, and each person will need his or her own shin guards. The cost includes a camp t-shirt.
Rowland said he’ll try to have the camps at Hillier Stadium on the turf field, but if that’s not possible (due to the heat and field conditions), the camp will be at the fields behind AHS.

- Sign-ups for youth league play are now available. Anyone interested may sign up at Stricklers Shoes store in downtown Augusta
The draft for the teams will be early in August. Cost is $45 for the first child and $40 for each additional sibling.

- The Augusta Youth Soccer program still is in need of volunteers who are willing to join the board and help manage during games this season.
Anyone who volunteers would be helping set up the field for games, run the clock and help tear down afterwards, but wouldn’t be expected to work all of game days. If a concession stand is to be available, more volunteers will be needed for that, as well.
Anyone interested may contact current board president Robert Buckingham at 854-0867 or Laurie Bruce at 841-1592.
