In a June 14 contest at Valley Center, the Cannons dropped a 12-11 slugfest on a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth. They showed their resilience by bouncing back with an impressive 8-2 win Sunday at Newton.
The Cannons (9-6) dominated the Walter Johnson League matchup on both sides of the ball. Zac Mickens tossed six innings, allowing only two runs on three hits. Blaine Hashagen led the offense, going 3 for 4 with a pair of solo home runs and there RBIs.
The Cannons remain on the road tonight with a 6 p.m. game against Park City at Newman University. They return home Thursday with a doubleheader against Newton. First pitch is at 6 p.m. at Andover Central High School.
