Ana Dilkes, of Andover, and Andover Central’s Evan Stamp were both named to the 2012 Wichita Eagle’s All-Metro Soccer Team.
Dilkes, a sophomore midfielder, and Stamp, a junior goalkeeper, were also among eight local players picked for the All-AV-CTL Division II First Team by the league’s coaches.
Trojans who joined Dilkes on the first team were led by senior midfielder Laura Sellew, who was also named as most valuable player. Junior midfielder Dion Hallmark, along with two defenders, sophomore Lizie Scharping and senior Caitlyn VanEpps, also made the first squad.
Stamp was joined on the first team by senior forward Paige Matacchiera and sophomore defender Masen Stamp.
Chris Lemons, who guided Andover to a 13-5-1 record and a berth in the state quarterfinals, was named league coach of the year.
A trio of Jaguars were second-team selections. They were sophomore forward Maddie Zimmer, sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Orgera and freshman defender Brianna Klocek.
Receiving honorable mention were: From Andover -- freshman midfielder Abby Anderson, junior midfielder JoLynn Hallmark, sophomore defender Ryann Horton, and sophomore goalkeeper Victoria Haas; from Andover Central -- sophomore midfielder McKenzie Tennyson and junior defender Leah Sitz.
