Denise Kelley has helped put on two annual banquets since becoming Andover Chamber of Commerce director. Both were formal affairs, in Andover’s nicest venues, with high-profile businessmen as speakers.
That’s all changing Friday night.
Hoping to create more casual networking opportunities for those involved in Andover businesses, the Chamber has a Vegas-themed “Game Night” for this year’s banquet. Dealers will run tables with games like poker and craps, a DJ will be playing music and the NCAA Tournament games will be shown on projectors to create a casino-like atmosphere.
The Chamber banquet is from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, March 16 at the Andover Community Center (the building going into the entrance to the 13th Street Sports Park). Tickets are $40, and $320 for a table of eight. To order tickets, or for more information, contact Kelley at (316) 733-0648 or email her at email@example.com.
You do not need to be a Chamber member to attend, Kelley said.
“Our feedback indicates our members wanted more networking opportunities,” Kelley said. “This type of event allows for that. By highlighting the NCAA games, and emcompassing that into casino night, we can offer more of a diverse networking opportunity for our membership base.”
Included in the ticket price are drink tickets and heavy hors d’oeuvres from Two Brothers BBQ.
The popular “diamond dig” event will return, Kelley said, with a different twist. The $10 purchase of a decorated martini glass will enter you into the drawing for a jewelry giveaway.
Other highlights of the banquet include a silent auction, prize giveaways, photo opportunities and Andover business honors.
