  • The full schedule for Greater Andover Days, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, can now be seen at www.andoverks.com.

    GAD has a new theme, "Shake It Up Andover," in its 44th year of the festival.
    The festival includes a food court, carnival, kidfest, parade, craft fair/business expo, ice cream social, pig catch and fireworks show. New this year is a VIP tailgate party featuring the music of The Banned on Friday night. Saturday night's concert is Three Ring Circus.
    GAD is still looking for people to participate in these Oct. 1 events ...
    * Softball tournament at Andover Central High School. The fee is $150 per team, which includes 12 GAD buttons.
    * Fun run (two mile) and fun walk (one mile) at the 13th Street Park. The $15 cost includes a shirt, water bottle and festival button.
    * Hot dog eating contest at the Central Park main stage. The $7 cost includes a shirt, a chance for prizes and a first place trophy ... and all the hot dogs you can eat.
