The Mustangs (1-3)?stopped one drive around the five and another just inside the 20, but couldn’t take advantage and eventually lost their momentum.
Cedar Vale scored 22 second quarter points to build a 16-point halftime lead.
Running back Colby Taglialatela ran the ball 39 times for 262 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Spartans (2-2).
Flinthills will be conducting its Homecoming this Friday as they face unbeaten Centre-Lost Spings. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

WHITEWATER — Caleb Cherryholmes threw for five touchdown passes and 289 yards as the Broncos remain unbeaten after four weeks of play.
Cherryholmes also rushed for 146 yards on the day.
Four of Cherryholmes touchdown passes went to Jake Green, who caught seven passes for 131 yards. Matt Jacobs caught the fifth touchdown and also scored on a running play in the Remington victory.
The Broncos next game will be its toughest test of the season at unbeaten Hutchinson Trinity.

Cheney 49, Bluestem 8
LEON — Cheney quarterback Brian Dewey passed for 275 yards and two touchdowns as the Cardinals evened their record at 2-2 on the season with the victory over the winless Lions.
Bluestem’s only points came on a 15-yard pass from Cade Minnick to Dalton Bevan. Ryan Bevan scored the two point conversion for the Lions, who play at Douglass next week.
