The El Dorado Middle School 8th grade Cats fell to 0-4 on the season after recording a rain-soaked 24-14 setback at Arkansas City.
The ball game opened with the Cats pinning the Bullpups deep in their territory on the opening kickoff, but the field position was soon reversed when Ark City converted a 3rd and long from inside their 10 yard line.
Field position played a big role in the outcome of the game, as the Cats were unable to maintain good field position when it was created.  Garrett Howland had a big game offensively for El Dorado, scoring on a 65 yard kickoff return and a 4 yard run from scrimmage after a 50 yard run.  The Cats 2-point conversion after the first touchdown was a pass from Howland to Wes Haines.  The Cats defense also contributed two takeaways in the game.
The Cats host Augusta on Thursday at Blackmore Stadium.
