The Butler Community College Theatre Department will be bringing “Little Mary Sunshine” to the stage Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The musical tells the story of a young lady who takes the audience back in time to when the world was more simple – “good meant good, bad meant bad, virtue was all and justice always triumphed.”

The story is set at the Colorado Inn, high in the Rocky Mountains in the early 20th Century.

In the story, Little Mary Sunshine has purchased the inn from the government, but finds herself unable to make payments on the land and is threatened with foreclosure.

Meanwhile, Capt. “Big Jim” Warington, along with Corporal “Billy” Jester, are on a dangerous mission to track down the leader of a band of Indians that has been ravishing the area and murdering citizens.

The story unfolds around them and their paths in life.

Butler will perform this show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Fine Arts Theatre. Advance reservations are required. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students. For reservations, contact the box office at 322-3262 or 733-3262 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
