The new president of religious-based Barclay College had his license as a clinical marriage and family therapist suspended this year, even as he lobbied for the presidency job held by his father.

The Hutchinson News reports that Royce Frazier signed a consent agreement with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board in March that resulted in his license being suspended.

According to the agreement, the board found probable cause that Frazier, who is married, had carried on an inappropriate sexual relationship with a woman he had counseled for years. The agreement said the woman ended the relationship in January 2007 after Frazier told her his interest was merely physical.

Frazier issued a statement saying he did not agree with the board's findings but accepted the deal to avoid further legal actions.
