Your health will take center stage at the community-wide Health/Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Augusta First Baptist Church, 1501 State St.
Admission is free and the event will feature something for everyone.
Door prizes will be awarded each hour with grand prize drawings (Wii Fit/bicycles) at 2:30 p.m.  Winners must be present to win.
There will be aerobic exercise demonstrations throughout the day.
A soup/salad lunch for only $5 per person will be available. 
Personnel with Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital will be present to administer Lipid/Hemoglobin A1c  (diabetes) screenings from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for $15.  A 12 hour fast (water allowed) is required prior to the test.  The A1c screenings offer a better determinant for blood glucose and Susan B. Memorial is expecting to offer more of the A1c screenings in Augusta in the future.  Hospital staff will also offer Osteoporosis screenings during the 11 a.m. to 3  p.m. Fair hours.
