Augusta’s girls golf team took fourth place at its home invitational meet Monday afternoon at the Country Club. The?Orioles finished with a team score of 217. Andover Central won the team title with a score of 175. Valley Center took second (201) and Andover took third (204). Valley Center’s Karlee Canaday edged out Central’s Alyssa Richardson by two strokes (39 to 41) for the first-place medal. Heather Spyres shot a 50 to lead the Orioles. Shelby Rieschick shot a 53, Olivia Cox shot a 56, Victoria Wignall shot a 58, Hope Laubhan shot a 60 and Kelcee Sullivan shot a 67 for Augusta. Ironically for the Orioles, they said they felt more pressure golfing at their home course than less, since they would be expected to perform better than usual. Hannah Mason and Annie Calvert each shot a 44 for the Jaguars. Kayla Awtry shot a 46, Emily Adams shot a 47 and Maddie Sherman shot a 51 for Central. Ariana Moll led the Trojans with a score of 48. Lauren Fahsholtz shot a 49. Maddie?Routhier shot a 53, Jessica Morrison shot a 54, and Ashley Tienert shot a 56 for the Trojans. Augusta will next compete at the Buhler Invitational Thursday.
