LTC?Rohn Hamilton of Augusta will be featured speaker during the Monday, May 31, Memorial Day Service at Augusta Elmwood Cemetery in open space in front the mausoleum off the Ohio Street entrance.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors at the Kansas Army National Guard Armory, 2115 Moyle.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors at the Kansas Army National Guard Armory, 2115 Moyle.
The ceremony will begin with a presentation of colors by the?Augusta Department of Safety.
Rev. John Einem of Christ Lutheran Church will give the invocation.
The audience will respond with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.
Clint Headley, service officer for the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6746, will sing our National Anthem.
VFW Trustee James Hall will recognize attending dignitaries.
Presentation of wreaths will be made by VFW Commander John Cox and Diana Wheatley, president of the VFW Auxiliary.
LTC Hamilton’s remarks will follow the wreaths.
Joe Hicks, senior vice commander of VFW Post 6746, will pay tribute to fallen soldiers.
Trustee Hall will announce this year’s Living Legend recipient.
Service Officer Headley will sing “God Bless America.”
All veterans will be invited to pass the flag and Rev. Einem will offer the closing prayer.
Taps will be played by Todd Hollis following a 21-gun salute to those who have served in the military.
