The Butler Grizzles recorded their fourth road win of the season Tuesday night with a 68-62 victory over Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.
Butler was able to get the win despite the physical game.
“We knew we weren’t going to get a great whistle down here, so we knew we had to be pretty good defensively to keep them off the line,” said Butler coach Mike Bargen.
The Grizzlies (8-2)?led by seven at halftime and pushed the margin up to 57-44 with five minutes remaining in regulation.
“We made some good adjustments in the second half to what they were trying to do,” Bargen said. “They hit a couple of threes late, but we played well and were never really threatened.”
Sophomore Caleb Walker led the Grizzlies with 21 points, while freshman Anthony Cousin added 12 and freshman Kyle Sloan scored 10 in the win.
The Grizzlies’ next game will be at 7:30 p.m. next Tuesday against the Tabor College junior varsity.
