Chris Stuart and Joe Zinn, both former Augusta football players, celebrated one last win on the same field together.

Stuart scored two touchdowns Saturday during Coffeyville’s 54-12 win against Rochester Community and Technical College (10-2) in Minneapolis. The win clinched the North Star Bowl title.

Stuart was the third leading rusher for the Red Ravens this season. He carried the ball five times for 20 yards, including touchdown runs of nine and six yards.

To top it off, Stuart was involved on a miscue that turned into a positive play. After a touchdown, Stuart lined up to hold the snap on the extra point. There was confusion about the play call, and the Ravens ran a fake. Stuart completed a two-yard pass for the conversion.

Stuart played at several different positions, including quarterback, for four seasons with the Orioles. Zinn, who made the trip, but didn’t play in the Bowl game because of an injury, played at safety on defense for Augusta.

The two of them graduated in 2008.

Stuart also placed third at the State wrestling tournament in the 171-pound weight class.

Coffeyvillle dominated early. The Red Ravens (7-4) scored two touchdowns and a field goal on their first three possessions to take a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Coffeyville made a goal line stand in the third quarter, forcing the Yellowjackets to settle for a fourth field goal.

With a 25-12 lead to start the fourth quarter,?Coffeyville exploded for four touchdowns to put an exclamation point on the season.
