Brock James Phillips, 25, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at his home. 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, El Dorado. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Leon Cemetery.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1983 in Wichita, the son of Ted and Elicia (Wade) Phillips. Brock graduated from Bluestem High School in 2002 and then joined the United States Marines serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan for four years.

He presently attended Butler Community College. He was working for Valmont Industries where he was a quality control engineer.  He loved to hunt and fish in his spare time.
On July 3, 2005 he was married to Deanna Cornish in Leon.

Survivors including his wife of the home are: a daughter, Emma; his father and stepmother, Ted and Dana Phillips of Augusta; his mother, Elicia Driskell of Olathe; brothers, Andrew Phillips and Bailey Phillips, both of Augusta; sisters, Jessica Phillips of El Dorado and Quinci Driskell of Kansas City; grandmothers, Beverly Robinson of Andover and Elicia Ferrell of Olathe; two nieces; three nephews; and many loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jim Robinson, William  Phillips and Earl Schnake, and Uncle George Schnake.
