At approximately 12:23 a.m. Monday, Butler County Sheriff’s deputies along with Augusta fire, and Emergency Medical Service units responded to an injury rollover accident east of Hopkins Switch Road on Southwest 100th.
Upon arrival Deputies found a single vehicle rolled on its driver side in the front yard of a private residence located just east of Skaer Road on Southwest 100th. Augusta Fire officers removed the driver of the vehicle from the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle refused EMS at the scene. Deputies on scene through their investigation found the vehicle was eastbound on Southwest 100th at an unknown speed when the vehicle left the roadway and went into the south ditch. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and the driver appeared to have overcorrected the vehicle and the vehicle went into the south ditch causing the vehicle to roll at least three quarters of a turn. The vehicle then flipped over and landed on the driver’s side.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this accident and alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this accident.
