The 16th annual Run For Your Life five-kilometer race had two first-time winners of the event Saturday morning in the race that started and finished at Susan B. Allen Hospital.


 


The 16th annual Run For Your Life five-kilometer race had two first-time winners of the event Saturday morning in the race that started and finished at Susan B. Allen Hospital.

Skylar Gutierrez won the male overall division in the certified 5K by less than half a second ahead of John Murphy III. Gutierrez ran the race in 16 minutes, 54.2 seconds, with Murphy coming in at 16:54.6. Jason Lauxman was third at 17:45.4.

Mackenzie Maki won the women’s overall division, finishing the course in a time of 19:38.7. Molly Milbourn was second at 19:46, and Marj Hunter placed third with a time of 20:19.7.

Keith Canatsey won the mile-prediction time event — finishing the mile in 6:08.8 after predicting 6:10. Second was Gay Kimble (2.3 seconds off her prediction), Kelly Pitts (3.5) and Rachel Hall (3.6).

More than 175 entrants competed in the race, sponspored by the hospital.

Male age group winners in the five-kilometer include Jason Costello (13-under, 24:46.8), Andrew Wagner (14-19, 18:23.7), Jesus Carrasco (20-24, 19:38.1), Ricky Mulfituno (25-29, 19:45.4), Patrick Todd (30-34, 18:43.6), George Myers (35-39, 18:48.6), Tim Schaffner (40-44, 25:09.0), Mark Vasquez (45-49, 18:55.2), Keith Garland (50-54, 21:50.1), Larry Schmidt (60-74, 22:02.9) and Virgil Love (75-over, 30:58.0).

Women age group winners in the five-kilometer include Paige Stanley (13-under, 29:19.1), Kelly Nuckolls (14-19, 22:14.7), Joleen Oates (20-24, 26:22.9), Katie Siegrist (25-29, 20:51.4), Jodi Tuttle (30-34, 23:48.1), Denise Schmidt (35-39, 20:39.0), Denise Haynes (40-44, 25:41.3), Tammy Stanley (45-49, 23:39.4), Wendy Burton (50-54, 23:29.3) and Trudy Calloway (60-74, 24:54.2).
