On Tuesday, the Butler County Commission approved the purchase of a Stryker Rugged Power-pro XT, model 6500 ambulance cot for the EMS department. The new cot will make it easier for emergency workers to lift patients into the ambulance.


On Tuesday, the Butler County Commission approved the purchase of a Stryker Rugged Power-pro XT, model 6500 ambulance cot for the EMS department.

The new cot will make it easier for emergency workers to lift patients into the ambulance.

The cot will be purchased from ProMed of Kansas at a cost of $10,871, which was already figured into the department’s budget. 

In other business, the commission:

• approved an agreement with the Kansas Board of EMS and Image Trend, Inc.

• approved the purchase of tires for the Public Works Department in the amount of $60,793.09.

• approved a partial refunding of sewer use fees for a patron in sewer district 15.

• authorized the Director of Public Works to obtain engineering proposals for bridge design work for three proposed future bridge replacement projects.

• authorized the Department of Public Works to obtain bids to replace a large document scanner/printer unit.

• recessed to executive session to discuss the purchase of right-of-way related to the SW 210th Street project west of Douglass.
