In response to the writer last week that didn't think city employees should receive a raise in this economy, Maybe he should first know what their wages are.  I doubt too many would be willing to replace them after last weekend. The cost of living hits city employees like every one else; their health insurance is worse every year, they do not receive overtime for holiday call outs and if you don't get your trash out on time, they have to back track to pick it up. I am not a city employee, but I certainly appreciate them.

I’m not smart enough  to run a school district, but after watching weather reports for two days, I knew a blizzard was going to hit on Friday.  A snow day should have been used.  It’s not like there were any  this year.

It’s too bad that the Augusta police officers don’t put some of the advice in Mr. Bush’s March 27th article to use.  Assess situations before they react.  They don’t know all of the citizens of Augusta, and not everyone is up to doing something bad or wrong.  Why weren’t all of the officers listed in the Public Safety booklet?  Working undercover, maybe?

I sure miss the days when the city picked up limbs after a storm.

The City of Augusta's website is amazing!  Thanks to the city staff for all of their hard work.
