The Butler Community College basketball teams will get their 2008-2009 season off to a spooky start with their edition of “Haunted Hoops” Friday night at the Power Plant.

The Grizzly men and women will both play their season openers on Halloween Night. The women will play Independence at 5:30 while the men face the Tabor College junior varsity at 7:30.

There will be a number of activities during both games, as well as the chance for children to trick-or-treat for free prizes and candy inside the arena. There will also be two costume contests. The first one will be for children ages 12 and under, which will be held at halftime of the women’s game. The second will be for teens and adults at halftime of the men’s game.

Admission to “Haunted Hoops” is free to anyone in costume. Tickets for anyone not in costume are $6.00 for adults for $3.00 for children 18 and under. GrizzlyBacker members and Butler faculty, staff and students get in free with valid identification.
