Violet Marie (Duncan) Worrell, 86, of Leon, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008 at Fairways in Augusta. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Leon Christian Church. Private interment will be held.

She was born June 21, 1922 in Washita County, Okla., the daughter of Alva M. and Ella H. Swearengen Coon.

She was born June 21, 1922 in Washita County, Okla., the daughter of Alva M. and Ella H. Swearengen Coon.

She had been a member of United Methodist Church in Leon; the Extension Home Unit; and loved to sew, garden, shop and watch basketball, especially the high school players.

Those she leaves are: sons, George Worrell, Jr. of Leon, John and Sandra Worrell of Leon, Steve and Susan Worrell of Wichita, and Dave and Nancy Worrell of Andover; daughter-in-law, Kathy Worrell Newcom of Leon; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Don Duncan and George Worrell; a daughter, Lois Jane Duncan; a son, Dent Worrell; five brothers; and four sisters.

Memorials in her memory for Hospice Care of Kansas may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado, who is assisting the family with the arrangements.
