Due to increasing paper and delivery costs, The El Dorado Times will now be published five days a week, Monday through Friday. Beginning this week, the Saturday edition will be discontinued, but the coverage of area events will remain the same.

“The cost of doing business is higher today than it has ever been,” Times publisher Keith Lippoldt said. “Because of the economic climate we are all facing, we are being forced, as an industry, to adjust and adapt to the higher costs of conducting business.

“The cost of paper is at an all-time high and everyone has been affected by the cost of fuel. I need to keep our costs down and I do not want to pass these costs on to our readers.”

Weekend events will still be published on Monday, with Friday night sports and breaking news stories available online at www.eldoradotimes.com. A complete follow-up story of these events will appear in Monday’s print edition.

Most of the features from Saturday’s paper will be moved to Friday, with the weekend’s TV listings, as well as the Memories Page, both appearing on Friday.
