Wednesday morning brought more wet weather, but the 4-H crowd kept spirits high with their event, The Barnyard Olympics.

The event was delayed slightly due to the crowd after the Livestock Judging Contest.

The 4-H Fair’s 2008 Barnyard Olympics started out with “The Parade of Flags.”

The Juniors and Seniors from the program gathered into teams and each team designed a flag.

The parade started with the Junior’s team the “Oinkers,” followed by the “Hog Wildcats,” then the “Buzzards.”

The “Midnight Cobras” and “Lil Ones” also took part in the parade and last came the “Barnyard Buckaroos.”

Each team circled the arena three times, presenting their hand-crafted flags with pride and excitement.

Some of the teams also wore coordinated apparel, like matching shirts and shoes.

After the actual parading was finished, each team lined up in front of the 4-H ambassadors to be judged.

Third place went to the “Hog-Wild Cats,” second place went to the “Barnyard Buckaroos” and first place was claimed by the “Oinkers.”

The Seniors were up next.

As the teams paraded, the crowd cheered for their favorites.

The senior teams consisted of the “Gruesome Goats,” the “Mighty Mustangs,” the “Sunflower Gang,” and the “Zoo Crew,” to name a few.

The senior teams took part in the parade, showing off their crafted flags and were also judged at the event.

The atmosphere was relaxed and playful and the “Parade of Flags” event came to a close.
