The El Dorado Broncos closed out their 2008 campaign by winning one of their three games in the final home series against the Liberal BeeJays.


 


The El Dorado Broncos closed out their 2008 campaign by winning one of their three games in the final home series against the Liberal BeeJays.


The Broncos won the first game of the series Saturday night 8-6; then lost both games of Sunday’s doubleheader to Liberal, 8-1 in the opener and 8-6 in the nightcap.


Starter Bryant Cotton was the winning pitcher for El Dorado in the opener, pitching five innings and giving up four runs (two earned). Ritchie Sandoval earned the save for the Broncos.


Michael Williams and Chris Biguenet hit home runs for the Broncos, while Matt Davis, Tanner Rindels and Chad Daleiden had two hits apiece in the win.


Daleiden hit a home run for El Dorado’s only run in the opener of Sunday’s doubleheader. Rindels led the Broncos in the nightcap with a home run and going 2-for-3 at the plate. Josh Willimott was the losing pitcher in the first game, and Alex Marney lost in the nightcap.
