School district making room for facilities improvements

Buildings on two properties of Augusta Unified School District 402 came down last week to make room for facility improvements okayed in the $48 million bond issue.

The former house at 303 W. Kelly above, used as part of the district’s transportation program, was demolished to make way for expansion of Robinson Elementary School.

A former residence at 902 State  was purchased by the School District earlier this year and has been reduced to ground level to make way for a second gymnasium on the grounds of Augusta Middle School.
