To the Gazette:
The Kiwanis Club of Augusta wishes to express our sincere appreciation for the support of the community during our annual Peanut Days event held Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. The donations received from our fair citizens will help us in our services back to Augusta.
We will be sponsoring a scholarship for one of our Augusta High seniors in May, be awarding bicycles to students in the grade schools, be sending two of next year’s middle school students to a leadership camp in June, and many other projects which Kiwanis is proud to support.
Kiwanis was organized here on Sept. 6, 1921, and has given many hours of service back to Augusta, making our city a better place to live, work, and retire to. We are proud to be a contributing part of that city infrastructure which makes for a happy group of citizens.
We meet each week (except for holidays) in the “party room” at the local Pizza Hut. We eat, conduct necessary business, and have an interesting and informative speaker.
The fellowship is great and we want to share that experience with Augusta!
