A new activity will begin at the Augusta Senior Center at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7. Each week a weekly discussion group will meet and discuss interesting topics. The first discussion will be “Your Childhood.” Participants are asked to share what life was like when they were kids, and even bring a photo of themselves as a child. Refreshments will be served.
There will be a casino trip on Monday, May 12 to the Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino in Bartelsville, Okla. The bus will leave the senior center at 7 a.m. Cost is $15 per person and everyone will receive $5 and a free lunch buffet.
The monthly biscuits and gravy breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. Just a $2 donation at the door will get you a delicious breakfast. The public is invited.
Jam sessions will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 27. Bring a finger food and admission is free.
The monthly dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 16. A $3 donation at the door and everyone is asked to bring a finger food. Door prizes will be awarded.
Initial Introduction to Woodcarving class eill be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, with Ed Redwine as the instructor.
On Thursday, June 12, there will be a charter bus trip to the Chicken-N-Pickin’ Ranch in Walnut, Kans. The bus will leave the center at 12:30 p.m. Join the group for a fun meal with entertainment in the restored dairy barn. Cost is $55 per person and includes the meal, the bus ride, and gratuity.
