The Augusta Lady Orioles had a perfect chance to pick up a win Friday afternoon against the Circle Thunderbirds at the AHS Soccer Complex.

But two defensive lapses ended up costing the Lady Orioles that much needed win as the game ended in a 2-2 tie. It was the second tie between the two teams this season.

Courtney Taylor had a goal and an assist to lead the Lady Orioles (1-10-2). Taylor set up C.J. Langrehr for the first goal in the second minute, and then scored her goal in the 30th minute as she took a pass from Sunny Rowland and her shot from eight yards as she was falling down went into the goal.

The T-Birds scored their first goal in the 27th minute, then scored their second equalizer four minutes into the second half.

Both teams had a number of chances to score after Circle’s second goal, but neither was able to take advantage of numerous scoring opportunities.
