They're now ready for May 3 State competition

Earlier this year, Augusta High School journalism and yearbook students of Kathey Gibbs and Julie Barker competed in the Kansas Scholastic Press Association regional contest at Emporia State University.
These potential future members of the journalism field did well at E-State bringing home a first, seconds, thirds and several honorable mentions.
They are now preparing for the State contest next month at the University of Kansas.
High school journalism students were given information and time to accomplish various writing and drawing tasks.

Editorial Cartoon - Delaney Milbradt, first. She also received an honorable mention in Editing.
News Writing - Tyler Dennett, second; Editorial Writing, second.
Feature Writing - Lauren Collins, second. She received a third in Sports Writing.
Sports Writing - Christian Ingalls, honorable mention.
