Ami Vasquez and Clinton Haas were announced as queen and king of the Junior-Senior Prom Saturday night at Augusta High School.
The announcement came about a half hour after all prom-goers were inside the school amid the ?“Wonderland” decorations of the school halls and the commons area.
Vasquez and Haas reigned from 10 p.m. to midnight and at the After Prom Party early Sunday morning.
A cold rain and brisk northerly winds were endured by watching family and friends when the couples were introduced on the entrance path to the school from the high school parking lot.
Other candidates for prom’s royal titles were Layne Bosley, Britney Latham, Caleb Neely, and Luke McKay.
A costumed Jamie VanDever as the Mad Hatter announced the prom couples and Donna Nickel costumed as the Queen of Hearts distributed prom admission tickets.
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) sponsored the After Party.
