Sarah Chance Bakery/Serendipity Café and Boutique will hold their annual Dining Against Cancer…A Day of FUNdraising silent auction on Tuesday, May 13. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Lance Armstrong Foundation.
The LAF inspire and empower people affected by cancer. They believe that unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. They provide the practical information and tools people with cancer need to live life on their own terms.
In 2007, the silent auction and lunch proceeds raised over $,1000 for the LAF and the Sarah Chance Bakery/Serendipity Café and Boutique hope to increase that amount this year. “We are so excited to be able to give back to an organization who does such amazing things for cancer research and for cancer survivors and be able to have fun at the same time,” said Kelli Scott, owner of Sarah Chance Bakery.
“This is an important event to me because as a cancer survivor, experience has taught me a lot about the need for cancer education and for greater funding for cancer research and social support. Living with cancer can be a lonely and overwhelming experience. I want to support others going through this difficult time in their lives.”
Cancer affects one out of every three woman and one out of every two men.
This business is currently soliciting donations for this event, please contact Kelli Scott at 316-775-6000 or 316-323-7876 if you would like to be a part of this event.
