Fred “Butch” Lee Ohmart, Jr., 54, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at his home in El Dorado. 


Fred “Butch” Lee Ohmart, Jr., 54, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at his home in El Dorado. 

The celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

Fred was born Dec. 20, 1953 in El Dorado, the son of Fred and Geneva (Grow) Ohmart.  He attended schools in Clearwater and graduated from Clearwater High School. After school, he joined the Army in 1972 and served until 1978. He worked as a pipe fitter for Cessna Aircraft. He was united in marriage to Debra Lynch on June 16, 2007 at the American Legion in El Dorado. Butch belonged to the American Legion Post 81, doing whatever he could for Post 81. He also was the director of the Legion Riders Post 81. He loved motorcycles especially his Honda Shadow 1100 and bull riding.

Surviving family includes: his wife, Debra of the home; sons, Gabe and wife Chris Ohmart of Augusta, Frank and wife Angel Ohmart of Baxter Springs and Matthew and wife Lindsay Lynch of Wichita; parents, Fred and Geneve Ohmart Sr. of Augusta; and granddaughters, Jade and Montana Ohmart.
